Custom 3D printing. Send us your sketch, measurements or STL, we check printability and effort, and print your part – from a single piece to a small run.
Kniff is a 3D-printing service from Berlin. We print pretty much anything a 3D printer can produce: everyday helpers, spare parts, hand-crafted components, models for architecture and planning firms. We adapt models on request. Every part goes through our own inspection before it ships.
Have an idea, a sketch, or a finished file? Send it over. We check printability and effort and get back to you with a fixed price before anything goes on the printer. From a single piece to a small run.
Thoughtfully designed parts for car, travel, home and office. Chosen, printed, and tested in everyday use. Standard colour matte black, the travel tin also in green and pastel blue, further variants on request. The range keeps growing. All products can be ordered through our Etsy shop.

Customer projects
From the workshop.
Most Kniffe start as a commission: a component, a spare part, a prototype you just can't buy. One recent example.
Horn · Home audio build
Custom print at Kniff
Treiben Horn
A horn for a home-built audio setup. The shape is large, thin-walled, and genuinely awkward for a printer – the real work was getting it right: different materials, different printers, until the walls, edges and surface were exactly right.
Not every part has to be a commission. For car, travel, home and office, printed in Berlin. Standard colour matte black, the travel tin also in green and pastel blue, further colour and material variants on request. The range keeps growing.
All reviews are from customers who received a product or a custom piece from Kniff. Feedback was collected personally, and no review was given in exchange for compensation.

File or sketch
Upload an STL, 3MF or STEP, or briefly describe what you need. Measurements, material and quantity help us assess it.
02 / Review
Is it printable as-is
We look over the model: wall thickness, support structures, print time, material needed. If anything's unclear, we'll get back to you with a suggestion.

A fixed price, no surprises
Price based on material, print time, finishing and quantity, with an expected delivery time. A personal reply, not a call centre.

Printed, checked, packaged
Once you confirm, we print in Germany – single piece or run – hand-check every part and ship it carefully packaged. Quantity discounts from larger orders.
How it started
The first Kniff was a coin sorter.
We both knew the problem: always loose change on you, never the right coin to hand. A bit in your pocket, a bit in the centre console, the rest in a bowl by the door. We still had to search every single time.
So we built a sorter: eight tubes, one for each euro coin, the value embossed on top. We listed it on eBay, more out of curiosity than any plan. In fourteen days, eighteen sold — all to people we'd never met. That was the first part anyone had ever ordered from us, rather than received as a gift – and the moment it became clear there was more to it than that.
The sorter that started it all. Eight tubes, one for each euro coin.
Frequently asked questions
Before you ask.
What does a custom print cost?
That depends on size, material, print time, finishing and quantity. That's why every request gets a personal fixed price instead of a flat rate. The assessment is free and non-binding.
Do I need a finished 3D file?
No. A sketch, a photo with measurements, or a short description is enough to start. If you have a file (STL, 3MF, STEP), it's faster. We can adapt models or design them together with you if needed.
How long does it take?
We usually reply to your request within two business days. Once you approve, print time depends on size and quantity – the exact delivery time is in the quote. Shipping within Germany via DHL, usually 1–2 business days.
What materials and colours are available?
Default is matte black PLA, a plant-based material. Over ten further colour and material variants are available on request, including pastel tones, metallic finishes, and PETG for better heat resistance. We print new colours as a sample first.
Who owns the rights to my design?
You do. You remain the owner of the rights to the file you submit. By submitting it, you confirm you're authorised to use it. We only print other people's copyrighted designs with proven permission.
Can I return it if I don't like it?
That depends on what you ordered.
As a consumer, you can withdraw from an order for ready-made shop products within 14 days without giving a reason. Choosing an offered colour variant doesn't change that.
Parts made individually to your specifications through Custom Print, on the other hand, are legally excluded from the right of withdrawal (§ 312g(2) no. 1 BGB). That's why you get a quote to approve before anything is printed.
If there's a defect or a printing error on our part, the statutory warranty applies either way – just get in touch and we'll find a solution. Details in the Right of Withdrawal page.
Insert the pen cap-down into the holder. That way the ink doesn't leak in summer heat inside the car.
Pen Holder for the Car
Clip your note in sideways rather than lengthways. It blocks less of your view and keeps you compliant with German road-visibility rules (§ 23 StVO).

The travel tin isn't just for cotton swabs. Earplugs, hair ties, travel pills or spare buttons fit just as well.

Sort decks by game rather than looks. Skat on the left, Rummy on the right, keepsakes at the back. When guests are over, you'll grab the right one without looking.

Thread the charging cable through the back slot before you set the phone in. It'll already be in the right position when you pick it up.
